Aberdeenshire Special Landscape Areas

Alvah and Forglen is fortunate to have as it’s eastern and southern boundary a portion of the Deveron Valley, one of the most scenic areas in Aberdeenshire over most of it’s 61 mile length. Aberdeenshire Council is seeking to get public opinion on landscapes for designation as Special Landscape Areas (SLA). These will replace the old Area of Landscape Significance (ALS) designation which the Deveron Valley had in the past. To help the area get the new SLA designation we urge everyone to respond to this survey before the end of October 2015. The public invitation from Aberdeenshire Council to participate in this is shown below:

We would like you to tell us about your favourite landscapes in Aberdeenshire, and why you think they are special. This information will help us in the technical assessment we are carrying out for Aberdeenshire Council. We are asking people to complete a short on-line questionnaire, which you can use to nominate as many of your favourite landscapes as you wish.

The questionnaire can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/93GRCLS

Please feel free to pass on this link to anyone you feel may be interested in contributing to the project. The questionnaire will be open until the end of October 2015. We look forward to reviewing your submissions.

The second part of the survey to add landscapes, which can be completed as many times as you like, is at Landscape Survey Part 2
