R100 broadband update

The R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme has been in place for over a year. The main voucher offers subsidy of up to £5,000 per property and is available to all properties that cannot currently access superfast speeds and are not in the plans of either commercial operators or the R100 contracts.

An interim voucher is also available for properties that are expected to receive superfast speeds from commercial operators or the R100 contracts, but not until after the end of this calendar year. This subsidy is for up to £400 per property, with an additional £250 for those in the hardest to reach places. The vouchers can be used to boost broadband speeds by accessing technologies such as those using satellites, mobile and wireless solutions and are intended to be an interim solution in advance of either commercial or R100 contract deployment.

The interim voucher part of the scheme was due to end on the 31st December, however it is confirmed that it has now been extended to the 31st March 2022.
